The Capitolio Nacional (El) is open the hours: 9.15am-3.45pm Fri-Mon; 9.15am-1.45pm Thu Phone: +53 7 620353. This is the building that houses the island’s Senate and House of Representatives. The Palacio de los Capitanes Generales is open the hours: 10.30am-5pm Tue-Sat; 9am-1pm Sun Phone: +53 7 612876. This used to be the Havana Town Hall Havana Town Hall for 176 years. The Catedral (La) and is open the hours: Mass: 9am Sunday Phone: +53 7 617771. What is very interesting is that some of Columbus' remains were kept here between 1796 and 1898.

For a fun day visit The Zoológico de La Habana is open the hours: 9:30am-5:30pm Tue-Sun Phone: +53 7 818915. This great zoo is located right in the middle of the city of Havana. The Playas del Este is open the hours: 24-hours daily. For a wonderful day at the beach, which clearly is the most popular thing to do on a bright sunny day you will just love the Cuban coastline.

Capitolio Nacional (El)

The Capitolio Nacional (El) is open the hours: 9.15am-3.45pm Fri-Mon; 9.15am-1.45pm Thu Phone: +53 7 620353. This is the building that houses the island’s Senate and House of Representatives. It was built in the year 1929. In it there is the Salón de los Pasos Perdidos(The Hall of Lost Steps) and a 28-carat diamond that marks the exact centre of the city;

Palacio de los Capitanes Generales
Havana, Cuba
The Palacio de los Capitanes Generales is open the hours: 10.30am-5pm Tue-Sat; 9am-1pm Sun Phone: +53 7 612876. This used to be the Havana Town Hall Havana Town Hall for 176 years. Now it is the City Museum and tours begin with a visit to the old Council Chamber and the palace quarters.

Catedral (La)
Havana, Cuba
The Catedral (La) and is open the hours: Mass: 9am Sunday Phone: +53 7 617771. This is a building in the 18th century ecclesiastic architecture form and you will enjoy the interior and exterior of this fantastic site. What is very interesting is that some of Columbus' remains were kept here between 1796 and 1898.

Zoológico de La Habana

The Zoológico de La Habana is open the hours: 9:30am-5:30pm Tue-Sun Phone: +53 7 818915. This great zoo is located right in the middle of the city of Havana. There are plenty of animals to see and if you are hungry grab a bite to eat at one of the many eateries in the area. This makes for a great afternoon out.

Playas del Este
Havana, Cuba
The Playas del Este is open the hours: 24-hours daily. For a wonderful day at the beach, which clearly is the most popular thing to do on a bright sunny day you will just love the Cuban coastline. There are all kinds of hotels too so if you want to spend the night you will be well taken care of.

Cementerio Cristóbal Colón
Havana, Cuba
The Cementerio Cristóbal Colón is open the hours: 9am-6pm daily. It was built in 1876, it holds nearly a million graves. It is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the Latin American continent. The Afro-Cuban religious practice of "santería" is common throughout the cemetery and you will find colourful rag dolls lying beside the graves.

Parque Central
Havana, Cuba
The Parque Central is open hours: 24 hours daily. This park (also known as Parque Jose Martí) dates back to 1903 is a very relaxing place. There are beautiful Royal Palm trees that visitors can sit under and have a drink while they listen to music. It is a great way to pass the afternoon.

Jardín Botánico
Havana, Cuba
The Jardín Botánico is open the hours: 9am-5pm Mon-Fri Phone: +53 7 544108. This botanical garden is so beautiful because it has plants from all over Cuba and the Caribbean. You will tour the entire area and then see the ExpoCuba exhibition centre, followed by a traditional Cuban lunch at the Don Cuba restaurant. It is a wonderful day out.

Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro (El)
Havana, Cuba
The Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro (El) is open the hours: 10am-6pm daily and the Phone: +53 7 637063. This fort has a lighthouse that was built on the site in 1845. You will definitely want to take a look at this monument and see why it is a favorite of the residents of Cuba.
