Havana
Car Rental - Especially if you like the freedom
of exploring the suburbs of Havana we recommend that
you rent a car, otherwise if you are only planning
to explore the city it is best on foot or by public
transportation. There is no rush hour traffic in Havana,
which is the only Latin American city where there
is not. So that is nice when you are travelling. The
signage in the area on the roadways is very good.
To drive in Cuba you have to have an International
Drivers’ License or valid national driver’s
license and be at least 21 years of age. In Havana
the speed limit is 62 mph on freeways and 56 on highways.
Other rural roads are 31 mph and urban roads 25 mph.
Most of the Hotels in Havana have
a car rental agency on their premises. You will want
to shop around to get the best prices. All of the
rental car agencies listed below have offices located
in the airport, which makes it very convenient for
the passenger as a pick up and drop off destination.
